Beginning the Registers

The registers are part of the heart of a harpsichord. As such, they must be very precisely built, to the thousandths of an inch.

I printed out the upper registers template. This required lots of trial and error in getting the printout to come out exactly to size. For the upper register template the Print Region setting in Delta CAD has to be .9965 to get the octave to print out at exactly 6 ¼”, probably due to it being printed in landscape mode? Printed 2 copies of upper register on card stock. The lower registers printed correctly at 1.0, but these were printed in portrait mode. Here is what the template looks like:

I also prepared the poplar blanks for the registers.
